Framlingham CastleFramlingham was the chief seat of the powerful Bigod family, owned by the Dukes of Norfolk, the Mowbrays then the Howards. Finally, in a state of decay, it was bought by the philanthropic Sir Robert Hitcham, who endowed it to the poor.

OrfordThe outer bailey of the castle is buried and appears as mounds around the keep, which is in fine form. In World War II experiments in radar were carried out on this coast and the masts and buildings can still be seen.
