Fantastic waves after a huge thunder-storm last night. Strong southerly wind bringing massive waves up from the Tasman Sea - five to seven metres today.

The rocks are Old Gondwana. Expert-verified antiques. Tough as, and used to this treatment.

 We paused here to survey our options. The rocks here used to be the track round the headland. You'd not stand much chance if you were washed off today.

This was view across Tauranga Bay to the Seal Colony rock. More pictures below of the seals. 
Below is Gibson's Bay where we stayed on the clifftop at Steeples Cottage. Here the 'Waves they were piddling and small. No wrecks and nobody drownded, in fact, nowt to laugh at at all' (quoting my grandmother (b 1898) who enjoyed this doggerel verse.
Fifteen second exercise for the vocal chords. Wake up, bark at the humans, go back to sleep.
