RSPB Bird Reserve on the coast.Minsmere was a dream of my teenage years and at last I got there. Several exciting birds, like the Hobby (you'll have to take my word for it), Avocet and Kingfisher, which has become much rarer.
The shoveler manage to look perpetually startled with their yellow eye. The Lapwing looked exhausted and the Avocet kept his back determinedly towards us. Plenty of Wigeon (sounds like an insult, Wigeon!). Some of the Shelduck looked crossbred and the Egret followed us around, posing. |

Stone Curlew, not the easiest to see or photograph - my excuse is cloud and impending rain. These birds are gathering to migrate.
