Zion National Monument from the back; we sneaked into Kolob Canyon. What to say?
Day two at Zion, we were beguiled into taking the Canyon Rim track. It was one scary vertiginous scramble with a wet sandy ledge, over a hundred metre drop-off, and a chain bolted to the wall to hang onto. The NZ Dept of Conservation would have a fit. I always thought the Americans were more sensitive to losing citizens. Evidently they lose an average on one a year over the side in both Grand Canyon, and here at Zion. Helen and I lived to tell the tale.
