Tennyson Down to the Needles Lighthouse

We walked to the Needles from the Tennyson monument, raised to the poet, Alfred Lord Tennyson, who loved the downs here. 

O who will o'er the downs with me?

The cliffs at Alum bay are sandstones and clays, famously of many hues, tipped vertically. They are crumbling as one watches.
